Be Proactive on IAQ: Choose Safe Building Products

Architects, designers, contractors and facility managers have a responsibility in providing a safe working environment when designing and maintaining commercial facilities.

By choosing safe building products, specifiers and managers can take a proactive stance on indoor air quality, and avoid repercussions from lawsuits, regulatory actions, and major financial penalties that often ensue from claims of "sick building syndrome" and other building-related illnesses.

Several professional associations, such as the Building Operating Managers Association (BOMA), now offer continuing education on environmental issues to help members stay current on these important issues.
